Marketing Mentorship

This job posting is now closed

Temporary (3 months), Full or Part-time

Osio Labs is an online technology training company. We have several websites that provide online resources for learning a variety of web technologies. Our small team manages tutorial production, runs the websites, and provides customer support. We are looking for someone who wants to learn marketing skills while working fully online. You will work directly with the CEO on marketing planning and tasks during the mentorship, as well as be part of the day-to-day running of a small company. You’ll also experience remote working with a company that has been working this way for over a decade. We have always been fully online and do not have a physical office anywhere. To learn more about mentoring with us, you can read about how mentorships work at Osio Labs.

Marketing at Osio Labs is heavily based on content marketing, across all of our brands. We are currently actively promoting 3 different brands (the main company brand, Osio Labs, and 2 of our products: Drupalize.Me and Hey Node). The bulk of the work will be creating content and working with social media, along with website copy, SEO, and event sponsorships and promotion. You will also be exposed to a variety of metrics and reporting, including but not limited to Google Analytics. Depending on projects on deck at the time of the mentorship and mentee interest, there may also be opportunities for doing market research and customer interviews.

Most of your time—learning and project execution—will be self-directed. You will report directly to the CEO and work with her to define tasks and learning objectives on a weekly basis. The CEO and a secondary mentor will be available to you throughout the week for discussion, resourcing, and review.

Pay, hours, and timeline

This is a temporary contract position for 3 months (12 weeks), September through November 2021. Hours are flexible from 20-40 hours per week at $15/hour. (Final expected hours will be determined by the candidate’s needs and will be defined as part of any offer.) You will work at home (or wherever you like), as we are a distributed company. This position is open to everywhere in the world as long as you have steady access to an internet connection.

Workday hours are very flexible according to your own schedule and meetings. We have one regular weekly meeting for the whole company on Tuesdays at 18:00 UTC (12pm US Eastern Daylight, 8pm Central European Summer) that you will be required to attend (at least most of the time). You will also need to be able to overlap with the CEO (in Central European Summer Time Zone, UTC+2) for meetings at least once or twice a week. Any national holidays in your country of residence that are observed during the internship will be paid days off.

Requirements

  • Understanding of basic marketing principles (this can be from courses, workshops, reading, etc. or experience)
